About Our Team

Summer Young, Esq., Managing Partner

Summer Young has dedicated her entire career working in the Judicial System in Minnesota, learning the ins and out’s of litigation, alternative dispute resolution, civil procedure and how to work a case from initial consultation to verdict.

When Summer initially received her law license, she worked for almost two years as the Floating Law Clerk of Hennepin County, working for all of the 63 Judges who needed an extra set of hands in Chambers.  These were the result of short staffing or complicated matters where staff needed assistance to manage the workload.  She worked in almost all the Courts Hennepin County has: Family Court, Juvenile Court, and at the Government Center on Civil and Criminal matters.  Summer thrived in this overwhelming position and learned that she wanted to open her own law firm when her clerkship time was over.

Summer landed in Judge David Pipers Chambers, on a Civil Assignment, working on a wide range of cases and with hundreds of attorneys.  Summer has drafted dozens of Orders and has been Affirmed by the Court of Appeals every one of the five times her orders have been appealed. In her Civil Clerkship, Summer enjoyed working dozens of jury trials from start to verdict.

Born and Raised in Chisago County

Summer was fortunate to being born and raised in this beautiful area we call home, Chisago County, Minnesota. Summer graduated from Chisago Lakes High School where she played basketball, volleyball and tennis.

After graduating, Summer was drawn out West to attend college there.  She graduated from Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe with a degree in Ski Business and Resort Management.  She knew she had a desire to help people and so she applied for and enrolled in Law School in downtown San Diego.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson Law School in San Diego in the top 5% of her class. Summer was active in Law Review, Moot Court, a Contracts Learning Assistant, and her personal favorite, being a student ambassador for her school. It wasn’t long that the calls from her family brought her back home, to spend more time with them and also to enjoy this area that she loves.

Summer spends her free time cycling, canoeing up and down the St. Croix River, hiking in the woods, reading, taking her Saint Bernard on long walks, and training for a number of physical events she competes in during the spring and summertime.
